From ye olde campgrounds supervisor...
Okay, this update email covers several areas that may not apply to some. Please pass along the info to your members as necessary.
First. No more structures are allowed. If it's constructed (e.g., nailed together) it can't be built. My earlier message about submitting plans has been overridden. Existing structures are grand-fathered, but you may have to pay property taxes if the city/county assesses them.
Second. Respect the boundaries set by your neighbors.
Third. We have opened up an area for Participants camping that borders on the Patrons campgrounds. We have bulldozed the trees to form a rough barrier. In the future we will be building a proper fence. In the mean time, Patrons are not allowed in the Participants campgrounds. Patricipants may freely travel to the Patrons campgrounds to visit/party with folks they know. Any Patron found in the Patricipants campgrounds will be ejected. A second violation will result in banishment from the Patrons campgrounds.
Fourth. Last year we had several occassions where we allowed Patrons to come back into the Faire area (specifically to the Pub area) after closing. Due to Patrons wandering beyond this area and vendor concerns, we will only have a few occassions where this open gate policy will happen. We will announce when Patrons in the campgrounds can come back in. In any event, when we perform the closing "push-out", Patrons must leave the Faire area immediately.
Fifth. Trash. We place trash containers next to each port-a-potty. These are for the beer/beverage container deposits for those visiting the facilities. They are not for depositing the general trash from an area. Deposit your trash in the dumpsters provided or haul it out. Last year, there were about 15 trash bags deposited by the port-a-johns by Trash Tribe. The local wildlife managed to rip all the bags open and spread the trash everywhere. The Faire management had to pick up all this trash. This resulted in the increase in the camping fee. If it continues, the fee will again increase. In summary, pick up after yourselves.
Sixth. really sicko. It seems a few folks with outdoor toilets felt that they could just deposit the waste bags in the port-a-johns. When the truck sucks down the contents and one of these bags clog the suction, they deposit the bags by the john, which someone has to pick up. Put the bags in the dumpsters after enclosing in a trash bag. Better yet, take the bags home.
Seventh. Firewood. We have a lot of dropped wood in the campgrounds. Bring a chainsaw and axe and cut what you need. Do not bring in firewood from more than 50 miles from the area. We do not want to introduce pests into the wooded area that will damage our trees.
Eighth. Firecircle. I built a brick firecircle in the noisy General/Open campgrounds along with an elevated platform for drummers. For the first couple of weekends I cut the wood with the assistance of Valhalla and other groups and started a bonfire. Few attended and no drumming/dancing took place. In the future, if you want a functioning firecircle, donate firewood. This area could really rock if we get folks to support.

I need these numbers to submit to management to forecast campgrounds usage and income for the reserved area. For the General.Open campgrounds I can put together a best guess.
To repeat my previous message, you must have at least the minimum presence in your area throughout the Faire season. Management will be looking at the group areas to see which ones have folks camping and which ones are empty. There are several groups who couldn't establish a claim this past weekend in the newly opened area, who can put folks in every weekend.
