So, people up here keep buying "real Absinth" because it's supposedly legal again. It says that it has wormwood in it, but the side affects people keep describing seem like those of really good alcohol, nothing special. So I'm curious about whether or not people have heard if the real thing is legal again, and if it is, have I been aggrandizing it's affects? Is it really nothing more then really good alcohol?

I've been hearing the same thing. Last I checked the absinthe they sell now is similar, but not exact to the old world recipe. Maybe that's the loop-hole?

The special effects people hear about from old world absinthe are actually due to old world fuckers being cheap bastards, and more often than not drinking cheap absinthe that was colored with copper to give it the green hue of the more expensive brands. Drink enough copper and you'll see some crazy shit too. Absinthe, real or fake, is just licorice flavored alcohol. ew.
