This is old news. There's actually a better article about cognition tweaking drugs in the January '07 edition of Scientific American Mind (I've been collecting the magazine since it was created). Modafinil was the main one they discussed. It's been proscribed since the late 90's and been in use within the military for even longer. A few years back my mother was actually proscribed Modafinil/Provigil, and I've taken it. It's OK. No miracle drug. It was like I had a couple Mountain Dews.

Yeah, I was prescribed Provigil last year.  I think I told you about it before.  I had some weird cognitive side effects, but I wonder if I just needed more time to get used to it.
