Hello Hello! I'm planning to have a BBQ to kick off the summer, since I hardly get to see anyone anymore. Looks like the best time for me is May 30 or 31, Saturday or Sunday. I'm thinking about reserving a pavilion at either Challenger Park or Frankie Carter Randolph Park. If so, it's no alcohol!  Wink Wink This is an all ages, all friends, all day hang out event. I need people to bring food, drinks, meat, utensils, etc. I'll provide as much as I can. but can we make it potluck to help me out? I need cooks, too. I think it'll be really great if we can all get together for a day and eat and play with the kids and play Kickball! Let me know what everyone thinks, I need to make reservations. We need to see each other soon!

It's been awhile since I played kick ball! I'm there.

Eva, do you think you could make a list of what people ought to bring? I figure as people see this, they can pick something from the list and cross it off.

Either this, or people can just start posting what they're able to bring, and others can just look at what is already done.

I can make cake!

Or cupcakes...

Ok great, so we have cup cakes being brought.
Here are some things we need:

Meat to grill, hamburgers, hotdogs, etc.
Utensils (forks, napkins, plates)
Chips
Cookies
Condiments
Veggies for burgers
Salads (potato, pasta, or other)
Drinks (probably cans of whatev and water)
Charcoal perhaps, not sure of the set up

If you think of any essentials I'm missing just post it or I'll think of it later.

Also, is the Saurday good for most people or would Sunday be better? Looks like Saturday seems the best. I'll make reservations in the next week.

I would love to make this, but I don't know how well the whole 'no alcohol' idea will work out. I'll run the idea by the old man, and decide what to bring later. Anyone want to put us (+2) up for a night?

I second the Sundays.  Saturdays are usually gaming days for Phil, so I'm not sure if I can convince him to go anywhere.  He might however make an exception since we haven't seen you guys since Feb.

i'm interested, and i'll probably come hang out.  i've stopped eating meat though, so i don't know how much BBQing i'll be doing.  it would  be cool to see everyone and hang out a bit.

maybe i can bring the tater salad.

Alright then, Sunday is looking better for most. Let's say the 31st at 1 pm then. Being a vegetarian isn't a big deal, I'll just bring some soy stuff. There's a BBQ soy thing that tastes exactly like a McRib, it's freakin' sweet.
There will be plenty of food, regardless. Seriously guys, bring the kids, we need two teams for kickball. Tell anyone who doesn't read the forums, too. I don't have any numbers any more.
