Wait, Dave on speed? Imagine him posting on the forum when his mind is racing 5 times faster....pages.
if there is an upper limit to how much we can type into a reply, i would find it.
speaking of me on speed, i am actually on a type of speed right now. i went to the doctor last week, and talked to him about some of the trouble i have staying focussed on anything for longer that 30 seconds, and i got diagnosed with adult attention deficit disorder- inattentive type and he prescribed me methlyn, which is the generic brand of methylphenidate hydrochloride (ritalin). i'm not really sure how i feel about the drug yet. it does seem to help me focus on what i am doing. i get kind of a weird feeling when i take it though. its not bad, but its not good either. just kind strange. i'm going to adjust the doses a little bit over the next couple of weeks and seem if i can find a place that works for me.
the doctor started me out on the immediate release tablets, 10mg, but told me that i could up the dosage to as much as 20mg if it wasn't working for me. today is the first day that i tried 10mg. we'll see how that goes. i'll stop here before i find the upper limit of what the forum will let me post.
I've had years of experience with Ritalin and most of it's chemical and prescription analogues.
That weird feeling you're describing, I think I'm very familiar with it. I would suggest raising the dosage by 5mg for a month, as a trial.
However, you do have to be aware of the timing of the come down. You want to be at your baseline a least few hours before bed to avoid sleep issues. But, the time period between sleep and the beginning of the decline of the effects... You might should expect your energy and mood may be different than the rest of the day... However, you're naturally kinda manic and active, so that tendency may counter act the effect to some degree.
Just my opinion based on my experiences.
