yea, kerry showed this to me a long time ago.  its kinda cool, i guess, but my problem with it is that shit is expensive.  i'll stick with my cheap wal-mart shit.

The idea is fucking brilliant. You can apply it to any kind of demographic. If you don't see enough of your kind of stuff in there, make your own stuff to sell. Maybe you'll inspire other sellers with similar tastes...while makin' fuckin' cash.

I would love to see a kinky version of this!! Handmade floggers, bondage beds, whips, crosses, paddles, spanking benches, spreader bars, crops, leather pants, nipple clamps...

I really hate mass produced shit. I deal with it, but it's always so boring and similar. Homes with furniture and decorations that look new and all match perfectly.... It makes me feel like a fish swimming around in a bowl with perfectly green plastic plants, little bubbling diving man, treasure chest and a blue pebble floor. It's all so artificial. And I think to be comfortable in that kind of artificial environment you have to have a mentality similar to that of a goldfish....
I prefer a home that looks like it was pieced together a little bit at a time with carefully chosen and cared for items that have stories.
I would totally decorate and furnish my place with all handmade shit. I'd love to know the people that made my stuff. It's just more fulfilling some how. I appreciate it more. And I guess I kinda prefer what I grew up knowing.

i get what you are saying, but sometimes the mass produced shit is what you want.  well i actually don't know what you want, but sometimes its what i want.  like underwear.  thats a good example.  i don't need fancy decorated underwear for $30 a pop.  i want a package of 6 for $5.99.

now there is some very cool stuff on there, but there is also alot of overpriced junk.  people seem to think that because it took them forever to make it we will pay too much for it.  when my head is cold, i'll pick up a plain black knit cap from wal-mart, not spend $20 on some gay looking knitted shit on there.

and that is just generally.  there are good deals on there.  and you can get some cool custom made shit.  like i found this on etsy:

i would really be surprised is there wasn't BDSM stuff on there, but then again,  i haven't looked.  if not, someone ought to start making the stuff and putting it up there.

I did find some pretty ridiculously priced jewelry. A lot of it looked exactly like the stuff my mom makes as a hobby. For example, she can make a pretty looking man-made stone necklace for less than seven dollars. That kind of stuff was selling for an average of 30 dollars. That's dumb. I agree.

I did find some home made spreader bars that were well priced. But I guess anyone can make spreader bars...

I'm not against all mass produced goods, by any means... But I do want there to be more hand-made alternatives easily available. I think the mom&pop small type businesses will continue to find that the internet is their new medium. It's easier to equalize the playing field as far as accessibility.

Yeah, I got a "steampunk" ribcage cincher from there once.  It was a good deal, and it was made pretty well; the only problem was that it took 3 months to get it because the person who was making it was "going through fashion school."

Don't get me wrong, I know all about being waytofuckingbusy while in school, but if you're going to be too busy, why even post it?

Oh, and Phil keeps talking about starting a business making bondage furniture that "transforms" into regular furniture so that it looks normal when you have family over or something.  He just needs the resources and connections to get it going.   Probably never will......lol

i'm intrigued by NNN's idea of actually living in a fishbowl. i think i'd like a room with floor to ceiling plastic ivy, and a treasure chest that blows bubbles and a plastic diver guy and a skull to nap in

Thud that is all totally feasible... I saw a pic in a magazine for a kids bedroom many years ago... it had a treasure chest bed and giant bubbles hanging from the ceiling... this is sounding cooler and cooler... we should totaly do this!!
