http://www.wired.com/politics/law/news/2008/07/autoadmitThis story is kinda disturbing in so many ways - some part of me feels a little bad for the two girls involved, but another part of me wants to tell them to grow the fuck up and stop whining that people made fun of you on the internet. I mean, holy shit, forums are like the goddamn DMZ of shit-talking.
If this comes to full close, them whining bitches (both male and female) everywhere will be able to sue (or at least have precedence to do so) people for making fun of them on the internet, and I find that fucking ridiculous.
This makes me wonder about the log policy I have on these forums. Does anyone care that your IP address is logged whenever you post, and that it is possible that if someone were to bring such a lawsuit against you or me, that I could be forced to reveal that information?
I'll be reviewing the logging policy shortly. My gut instinct is to set it up so that just about nothing is logged anymore, for fear of shit like this. They can't subpoena what I don't collect.
