Almost to the new job
So, I start my new job on Wednesday. I’m looking forward to it with a mixture of fear and nervousness. I’ve never left a job that I actually liked before. I’ve always held on to jobs until I can’t stand them, and then started searching for something new, like I did with HCCS.
Now I find myself in the new position of leaving a place that I enjoy – I like the people I work with (almost all my friends), I enjoy most of the work, and I like my immediate boss. The new job offers more money and a chance to do more what I really want to be doing – system administration.
So I’m looking forward to Wednesday with a bit of trepidation – but a lot of anticipation.
I also apparently didn’t miss much at Excalibur this past weekend – super-cold freezing and swampy were the words that Ethan described it with.
I spent Easter with my folks, doing the standard family get-together – my Dad’s side of the family always has a big easter egg hunt and family meeting. Its nice to see the people I only see on Easter and at family reunions. However, the previous generation to mine has more memories together – it seems like our generation needs to get together without the older folks and have a little fun, build some real family memories. I think several of them are in Houston. I’ll have to see if I can arrange something.
