So, I finally get a chance to work with my friend Ethan – my roommate and I got him a job where I currently work. Of course, I’ll be gone from there in a little more than a week, so that kinda sucks.
Anyways, he looks like he’s gonna work out great there, and I think the job will be good for him – there is a lot to learn there, especially about SQL Server.
I slept until 4:00PM today. I guess the week just caught up to me. Anyways, I’m off to go hang out with some friends.
So, I’ve decided to start taking some time to work on my servers again.
The forum software will now actually email you with a registration link, so it actually works now – thats a plus.
I’ve done some updating, and the machine hosting my servers has been updated a bit – dual-core Opteron box, with 2GB of ram. Runs a little faster than the old one.
I’m moving to a new job soon – I’ll be back to doing Sysadmin work with a friend of mine from the old HCCS days. This has several bonuses:
1) It gets me out of Tech Support
2) the pay is better
3) I was losing certain job skills, and now I’ll get to use them again
I did get a decent amount of SQL Server knowledge from my current employers, so I do appreciate that.
I didn’t make it out to Excal yet, and I won’t this year – my back has been bothering me again. It seems to be feeling a little better recently, but hey – I just hope I’ll be in prime form for TRF.
Anyways, I think I’ll try doing some more frequent blogging, just to see what it is like.
Oh – And in case I didn’t mention it yet – I fucking hate MySpace. I have difficulty pinning down what it is that I despise so greatly, but some part of me hates MySpace – it just has this rank, fetid odor to it. Any time people are like “just use Myspace”, I die a little inside.
